About the play...

Superstardom, lust, devotion, sin and assassination, who am I? I am Andy Warhol. In the world of the rich and famous, no man’s name is more sacred than pop icon and artist, Andy Warhol.  Born of humble beginnings in the poorest area of Pittsburgh, he would eventually rule the world of the 60’s with his particular brand of humour, style, sex and art. A filmmaker, a magazine editor, an avid party goer, an instant celebrity, Warhol is to fame and art what Arthur Miller is to modern theatre.

Noel Anderson’s provocative play Andy Warhol’s Fifteen Minutes of Fame charts the 60’s pop icon’s struggle for success and his attempted assassination by radical feminist, Valerie Solanas. Solonas, a self-confessed man hater, would eventually penetrate Warhol’s factory and bring him crashing down to earth. This is their true story.  Daringly original and confronting, think David Mamet on crack and you’ve got Warhol’s Fifteen Minutes of Fame. Warning: Very Strong Adult Themes.

Andy Warhol: In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes; I’m going to be one of them.
